K-rails for Road Barriers

Have you heard of the word K-rail? Are you familiar with barrier rail type K?

If this is the first time you heard of this word, I suggest you visit www.jensenprecast.com. Jensen Precast is among the largest independently owned precast concrete companies in the United States. California's resource for K-Rail, they have been manufacturing and renting K-Rail for 23 years.

Anyway, K-rail is a type of temporary concrete barrier used as a highway divider to protect each side from traffic crossing over. Also known as barrier rail type K, K-rails may also be used in semi-permanent applications when properly installed.

Examples of Used K-RailThese K-Rails are fairly cheap because you have the option to buy or rent them. Then after using them, you can even sell them again.

Since K-Rails are made of concrete, I think they are a good choice for road barriers. Unlike here in the Philippines, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) installed pink fences on the main roads of Manila. Pink is not the most visible color and those pink fences are not strong enough to guide vehicles on the road. MMDA should consider installing K-Rails as our road dividers.
