There’s a street party at Bacolod Chicken Inasal (BCI), and you are cordially invited. Yes, your favorite chicken inasal experts once again brings in the streets into its cozy restos, even tags along the wacky crew of the hit ABS-CBN Primetime Bida show I Love Betty La Fea, to give you succulent fares that will surely whet your appetite.

BCI proudly introduces the BBQuito (pronounced as bibikito) Paborito meals that features the typical street-type, barbeque a lot of Pinoys love to eat from the streetside. Remember those pocket-friendly, orangey, sweetish, spicy and tasty wonders you’d munch on with great delight? That’s exactly how the BBquito looks and tastes like, only better this time with the touch of the expert inasal makers.

The BBquito Paborito meals are inspired by the character of Betty La Fea who in the Pinoy version (played by Bea Alonzo) loves to eat street food like barbecue on her way to and from the office. Just like the lovable character in the hit teleserye, you will love the BBQuito Paborito because it packs a lot of flavors.

I Love Betty La Fea is a TV series that a lot of people around the world love. It is an honor and a fun challenge for us to create meals inspired by the lovable character of Betty,” Rose Tanalgo-Meim, who heads marketing of Bacolod Chicken Inasal.

“The BBQuito Paborito Meals ni Betty La Fea were inspired by the typical street-type barbeque that is all over the Philippines. We just enhanced the taste and flavor that is usually sweetish, spicy and the color is usually reddish or orangey and very familiar to Pinoys”, shared Bing Tanalgo, who developed the recipe for the barbeques.

“We also made sure that the meals are easy on the pocket or “betty-friendly” so it comes with our garlic rice and 12 oz iced tea and starts at only P99.50”, said JM Tanalgo, General Manager.

To make your choice easy, Bacolod Chicken Inasal introduces six combos—all yummy, and budget friendly. BBQuito Combo 1 is called Chiquito, Ataquito and Batiqutio (chicken satay, liver and gizzard) while BBQuito Combo 2 is called Porquito, Ataquito and Isolquito (pork BBQ, liver and tail). There’s also Chiquito, Batiqutio and Isolquito (chicken satay, gizzard and tail) and the Porquito, Ataqutio and Batiquito (pork BBQ, liver and tail). With six exciting combos to choose from, you never should miss these grilled wonders the way you are consistently tuned in to the show that has Betty-fied the whole town.

“The BBQuito Paborito ni Betty La Fea tie up is our second collaboration with Bacolod Chicken Inasal after the success of Ysabella’s chicken last year and we’re looking forward to the public enjoying the new Betty meals, “says Julie Santos of the Licensing group of ABS CBN.
Last year, Bacolod Chicken Inasal and ABS-CBN joined forces to introduce to the Pinoy palate the Ysabella’s Chicken, a steamed then fried chicken that uses very Pinoy ingredients that instantly became a hit in the resto. The secret recipe was developed by ABS-CBN for the once top-rating TV soap Ysabella, starred award-winning actress and great cook Judy Ann Santos, who eventually became Bacolod Chicken Inasal’s celebrity endorser. Ysabella’s chicken is still available even after the teleserye has ended and is enjoying a healthy following at Bacolod Chicken Inasal.

For people with more sophisticated tastes, Bacolod Chicken Inasal also introduces the Eco moda Meals, which are inspired by the posh Eco Moda Manila office where Betty La Fea works. Eco Moda Manila is a sophisticated advertising agency headed in the teleserye by John Lloyed Cruz and the glamorous Ms. Ruffa Guitierrez.

For the Eco Moda meals, Bacolod Chicken Inasal prepared delicious Pollo Galantina, which is a quarter of succulent stuffed chicken, and Liempo Sabroso (Spanish for delicious), a no-fry (read: healthy) but crispy and juicy pork dish. True to its name, the Eco Moda meals are elegantly prepared to match the sophisticated and elite characters of the Eco Moda office in the TV show. The Pollo Galantina is served with gravy and vegetables on the side while the Liempo Sabroso comes with a dip and tomatoes and onions relish.

“The galantina recipe comes from an old family recipe while the roasted liempo recipe is our healthy take on lechon kawali loved by Pinoys. The liempo is roasted not fried ,” Bing Tanalgo shares.

With the introduction of these exciting combos and meals, you now have more reason to visit Bacolod Chicken Inasal with your family, friends or officemates depending on your mood or economic situation. Aside from the mouth-wateringc chicken inasal that’s a hit in every Bacolod Chicken Inasal resto, expect the BBQuito Paborito Combos and the Eco Moda Meals to be a fast seller as well because they are perfect match for the Filipino palate and are friendly to the pocket.
