Automated External Defibrillator

With the recent death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, I'm now studying how to save the life of a person in cardiac arrest or having a heart attack. Heart disease is the number 1 killer in the world. Most of these deaths occur with little or no warning, from a syndrome called sudden cardiac arrest. The most common cause of sudden cardiac arrest is a disturbance in the heart rhythm called ventricular fibrillation.

I learned that there are devices you can use to save the life of a person in cardiac arrest. An automated external defibrillator or AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac arrest.

Now, I'm planning to buy one of these AED, we'll never know when we need one.
