Many people grossly underestimate the challenges that come along with being an entrepreneur. If you're not careful, you can easily spend your entire life working around the clock. If you're constantly grinding, you're going to grind your body into the ground. You have to have a balance of work and relaxation. If you're in a position where you've felt a sense of burnout because of work, consider these ways you can begin practicing self-care.
1. Exercise.
If you start the day with this practice, you're going to give yourself a major burst of energy to keep going. Exercise is great because it gets the heart pumping and the blood flowing throughout your body. It's also excellent for weight management. If you ever get to a place where you're feeling sluggish, go for a quick walk around the neighborhood. The fresh air can help you get energized again. It can also serve as a great mental reset.
2. Soak in the tub.
Whether you own a regular tub or one of those custom walk in tubs, fill it up with warm and draw yourself a nice bath. You can choose to run a milk bath and add a few rose petals to the mix. The sensation is enough to help anyone unwind after a tough day. Plus, it'll your muscles relax.
3. Maintain a bedtime routine.
It's always wise to maintain a bedtime routine for a few reasons. First, it'll help you to stay on top of your sleep schedule. If you want to function at your best, you'll need to get rest. It's also important to monitor the amount of electronic use you're taking in before bed. If you're falling asleep with your cell phone in hand, this is a really terrible practice. In fact, it's a great way to make sure you don't receive the best sleep possible. Cultivate a bedtime routine by developing specific nighttime rituals (cup of chamomile tea, bubble bath, bedtime story, etc.) and always get in bed at a specific time. Leave the rest of the work for the next day. It'll all get taken care of. Let it go.
